The Comedy ClubThursday, July 9
On July 9, Bar 1838 will swap its cozy atmosphere for that of a comedy club for one night, featuring four of the most prominent voices in French stand-up comedy:
- Félix Dhjan, fresh off the stage at the Olympia
- Alexandra Pizzagali, who rose to fame through the Montreux Comedy Festival and Canal+
- Patrick Chanfray, a regular on TV and in movies
- Clément Kersual, a sharp-witted, multi-award-winning writer
An evening conceived by Coline Carteau, which the Hôtel Chais Monnet & Spa is pleased to host in the heart of Bar 1838, in a deliberately intimate setting with 90 seats.
The perfect opportunity to (re)discover the cocktails and tapas at Bar 1838, continue the evening with dinner at La Distillerie, or take the chance to turn your getaway into a full weekend stay at the hotel.

Throughout the season, Rooftop 1838 takes on the feel of an open-air stage: between signature cocktails and views of the Cognac rooftops ablaze at sunset, there’s always something going on there.
Through July 13, Mr. Ron will be the resident DJ there, creating a cozy and elegant atmosphere that sets the tone for the evenings on the rooftop.
Highlights of the season include the Fête de la Musique on June 21, and throughout the summer, the “Rendez-vous des distillateurs” evenings—an invitation to discover the great Cognac houses through tastings and live music.
With its resident DJ, themed nights, and special events, Rooftop 1838 has established itself as the go-to spot for summer nights in Cognac.

A Summer in Cognac
