Art Takes Center Stageat the Chais Monnet & Spa Hotel
From July 8 to October 31, 2026, the Hôtel Chais Monnet & Spa will host a brand-new contemporary art exhibition by Sylvain Piget, a visual artist from Cognac whose work resonates with the spirit of the place.
It was in 2021 that the institution hosted his very first exhibition—a meeting between his work and this historic setting—which was so successful that Sylvain Piget naturally became its artist-in-residence.
Since then, his work has continued to engage with the museum’s spaces, offering visitors a sensitive and contemporary interpretation of Cognac’s heritage.
Art lovers who are curious to get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process can also visit his studio, by appointment.

At the Hôtel Chais Monnet & Spa, summer is also a time for music.
Every day starting at 5:30 p.m.
Throughout the season, Rooftop 1838 takes on the feel of an open-air stage: between signature cocktails and views of the Cognac rooftops ablaze at sunset, there’s always something going on there.
On Monday, July 20, enjoy the best view of the Fête de la Croix Montamette fireworks, accompanied by a live concert featuring Never Stop starting at 8 p.m.
Among the season's highlights, the "Rendez-vous des distillateurs" evenings invite guests to discover the great Cognac houses, where tastings and music come together in elegant harmony.
The ultimate summer retreat, Rooftop 1838 has established itself as the must-visit spot for summer nights in Cognac.

A Summer in Cognac
Summer in Cognac has that special feel of long days: the light stretches into the evening, the outdoor cafes fill up, and the town takes a moment to breathe. It’s the season when everything invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and enjoy every second.
At the Chais Monnet Hotel Spa, open daily, facials, body treatments, and relaxing massages invite you to enjoy a moment of tranquility, before extending the experience between the indoor and outdoor pools, where relaxation continues as you float in the water.
The enjoyment continues at the table: on the terrace at La Distillerie, you can simply enjoy the sunny days, while at Les Foudres, the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, dinner becomes a refined experience, Wednesday through Sunday.
Summer is also the perfect season to explore the region: visit the grand estates of Cognac, hop on one of the bikes provided by the hotel for a ride along the Charente River, go horseback riding, or treat yourself to a drive in a sports car. There are so many ways to explore Cognac and its surroundings at your own pace.
