A Visit to Cognac: Hotel Chais Monnet to Open in Summer 2018

The town of Cognac—surrounded by rolling vineyards on the edge of the Charente River in southwestern France—isn’t just the birthplace of the famous bottled spirit; it was also once a bustling river port and the birthplace of François I, the legendary Renaissance king and arts patron who sponsored Leonardo da Vinci to come work in France

Sébastien Broda, new executive chef of chais Monnet.

Trained by some of the world’s top chefs, such as the trailblazing Roger Vergé who is one of the leading lights in contemporary gastronomy, Sébastien headed the kitchens at Cannes’ Grand Hôtel for 8 years where he was awarded a Michelin star in 2008.

Awaking the sleeping beauty
